But if the person serving the table can’t explain the menu,can’t recommend the right bottle,can’t read the room…
People don’t order.Or they order the cheapest option.Or they don’t come back.
That’s not bad food.That’s not bad wine.
That’s missing sales.
And this is where most people get it wrong.
Sales isn’t pressure.Sales isn’t manipulation.Sales isn’t pretending to be someone you’re not.
Sales is service.Sales is clarity.Sales is helping someone choose with confidence.
In wine, in restaurants, in hospitality, this is obvious.
A sommelier doesn’t “push” a €120 bottle.They explain.They listen.They connect the wine to the moment.
And when it’s done well?
People are happy to say yes.
